IRI, iReady & Illuminate Testing
|
|
Over the next two weeks, students will be taking the following assessments to show us their academic growth from the beginning of the year!
Kindergarten-Grade 3: Idaho Reading Indicator (IRI) – Students will take a one minute timed assessment where they read a passage, name letters or sound out letters, based on their grade, to display their reading fluency.
Kindergarten-Grade 2: Students will take their iReady diagnostic in reading and math to showcase their growth and adjust their playlist in their work to where they are currently learning.
Grade 3 – 5: Students will take an Illuminate assessment where they display their growth in reading and math standards from the beginning of the year until now, and begin to prepare for the spring assessment, ISAT.
Please ensure your students are ready, have a good breakfast, and a good night’s sleep before taking their assessments.

Our wonderful PTO will be selling Candy Cane Grams December 4th-8th. The Candy Cane Grams will be available for presale at the “Cocoa, PJs and Books” event for .25 cents. This is a great way to send a note to your child and encourage them during their testing!

Common Lottery Questions:
Q: If our student is currently enrolled at Gem Prep: Nampa do we need to fill out the lottery application again?
A: Yes, all current students still need to apply for the lottery, but they automatically get a spot for the 2018-2019 school year.
Q: Our student enrolled at Gem Prep: Nampa has a sibling we would like to enroll, do they also automatically get in?
A: All siblings enrolled into the lottery will get a sibling preference and are very likely to get on the roster for the 2018-2019 school year. Be sure to write their siblings (who attends GPN) name on the application.

We are excited to announce that we have partnered up with SchoolMint an enrollment software that will allow us to have our lottery application and registration process all in one spot. Our school operations manager will send out an email next week with further information on how to apply.

Student Attendance & Messages
|
|
Parents, please call in the mornings by 9:00 am if your student will be absent for any portion of the day. This will allow us to properly mark your students for attendance to avoid truancies. Gem Prep: Nampa’s tardy and attendance policy noted below.
If you need to send a message to your child, please call before 3:30 PM, or 2:30 PM on Wednesdays. Your partnership helps us ensure the transportation safety of all students.
|
|
Students have accumulated a balance on our Principal’s Lunch account. This is due to low or negative lunch balances. Our School Operations manager will be sending invoices home with students.
To prevent this from happening please create an account on myschoolbucks.com (please contact our school operations manager for your student’s ID). You will be able to keep track of your student’s lunch balance and see the days that they purchase food.

Gem Prep: Nampa’s highlighted student is Eirinn! Whenever you catch a glimpse of Eirinn she will be engaged in the activity at hand. She is kind, respectful, and hard working. When other students get frustrated with a difficult assignment, Eirinn will keep trying and help others. We are lucky to have her in our school community!

Hip hip hooray, Hailey saves the day! We want to celebrate Hailey Snead for jumping up to the plate and volunteering within the classroom, PTO and for school events. Hailey is determined to create a fun and energic atmosphere for the school community and we couldn’t be more excited to have her along on the journey at Gem Prep: Nampa.
