VALUES. COMMUNITY. ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE.

What are
Learning
Societies?

Gem Prep Learning Societies are small groups of students who learn together in person (Grades K-5 & 6-12). Students thrive as they are connected to their peers and teachers in these small, mixed-age learning spaces.

Learning Societies are designed to provide opportunity for relationship building, competency development, and academic success within a college preparatory framework.

Communities

While Learning Societies have a strong academic focus, there is also time built into the day for students to engage in a variety of enrichment experiences like collaborative projects, social activities, field trips, and more. Parents are also welcomed participants in the education of our Learning Society students.

HOW DO I ENROLL IN A LEARNING SOCIETY?

Learning Societies are designed to serve between 15 - 20 students in each grade band (K-5 & 6-12). Once our capacity is met, future interested families will be placed on the waitlist and notified when a seat becomes available. To enroll, follow these simple steps:

  1. Apply from our website to the Learning Society of your choice.
  2. You’ll receive notification from our operations manager about enrollment (offer letter or waitlist notification).
  3. Once you’re notified of seat availability, you are ready to accept the offer and complete the enrollment process.  *Note: Learning Societies are part of our Gem Prep: Online (GPO) virtual school, so you will be guided to complete enrollment into GPO in order to access the Learning Society.
  4. If you are placed on a Learning Society waitlist, you will have the option of participating as a traditional (at-home) Gem Prep: Online student while you wait for a seat to open in the Learning Society.
