Gem Prep Brick & Mortar Schools
Gem Prep Online
We are a free public charter school.
Our virtual school serves grades K-12.

Registration for the enrollment lottery opens in February and closes in March. Visit the “Apply” tab to see more information on your enrollment options.

We provide families $300 per student per semester to participate in additional educational courses and activities such as music or art lessons, physical education, visiting museums, etc.

We are focused on providing students a solid academic foundation of math, English language arts, and science which they can leverage for the rest of their lives. This critical foundation is supplemented with opportunities for elective choices like music, art, computer coding, and other options.

Additionally, our students who live near one of our on-campus schools are welcome to participate in a variety of on-campus activities such as school pictures, field trips, and extracurricular activities, as available. (See a sample extracurricular handbook for the types of things that may be available to students who live near one of our on-campus schools.)

Further, many of our students participate in sports and other extracurricular activities with their local traditional school or community teams.

We have a 24/7 virtual library available for free to all families, which includes audio books. Additionally, students who live near one of our on campus schools are also invited to use the schools’ physical libraries.
Yes.
Yes. As a public charter school, our students must comply with all state required testing.
The highly personalized nature of our school model is ideal for students working above grade level. Your child will be able to progress at their own pace in challenging curriculum at their skill level in math and language arts.

We have several available resources for parents interested in Gem Prep: Online. Visit the "schedule a tour" tab on our website to see a variety of options for learning more about our schools: Pre-recorded overview videos, register for a virtual information session with school leaders, tour a campus, view a virtual campus tour, etc.

Because GPO students attend school primarily from home, Gem Prep: Online does not have school uniforms.  However school spirit shirts and items with the school logo may be purchased from a variety of online vendors. (See GPO’s web page for links to vendors.)
