At Gem Prep, we believe that every student deserves the right to an education that will truly prepare them for the world they will inherit. We envision the day when every child in Idaho will have equitable access to a public school that delivers an excellent, college-ready education.
The Application Window
2023-2024
The lottery registration window will open from February 1, 2023, through March 7, 2023. The enrollment lottery will be held on March 8, 2023. Parents will be notified of their child's enrollment status immediately at the close of the lottery draw. Families may continue to apply for enrollment after the lottery draw, and will either receive an offer of enrollment or notification of waitlist.
The Application Process
Applying is easy and takes just a few minutes. To apply:
- Visit our SchoolMint portal to create a login and submit an application.
- Indicate which Gem school you would like your child to attend.
- Choose which method of communication works best for you to receive enrollment related updates (text/email).
Enrollment Lottery
A random enrollment lottery will be held in early March to determine which students will fill the available spots at each Gem Prep school.
If randomly selected, you will be notified via email and/or text and invited to accept the enrollment offer and complete registration for your child.
Students who are not randomly selected to attend Gem Prep will be placed on a waitlist, and the order of the waitlist will be randomly determined.
Waitlists
If a spot becomes available, students will be selected from the waitlist and parents will be notified of their child’s selection and informed of their next steps. The applications of students on the waitlist will remain on file for the entire school year.
Enrollment after Lottery
Parents who miss the open registration window may still apply for their students to attend the schools. Students who apply after the lottery has been drawn will be placed on the appropriate school’s waitlist and enrolled as seats become available.
